A Fresh Start in 2019
WELCOME TO 2019!
I'm glad to see you've arrived in one piece, having made it through the hectic holiday season. Despite the chaos, I enjoyed it thoroughly myself. We had a slew of family members in town through November and early December, followed by dear friends. The girls had their second dance recital, and post-Christmas, we took a trip to Seattle! E & E can't stop talking about the awesome pool at our hotel, and their first trip to the theatre to see 'The Velveteen Rabbit'.
As we begin this year, I find myself eagerly awaiting all of the growth and opportunities to connect that I know House Hunter PDX will bring. Things are starting to speed up around here as my team finalizes details for all the cool projects we're embarking on this year.
Before we get too carried away though, I want to take a moment to introduce myself to all of our new visitors, and to share a little about me to our growing base of followers! I'm so excited to have you all along for the ride and hope I get the chance to know all of the following about you someday!
What follows is a short and sweet interview crafted by my content guru, Sede.
Name: Eldridge Huntington III
The Naming Story: My parents had a name picked out well before I was born. They were getting all ready for my arrival when one week before I was born, my grandfather called and demanded my name to be Eldridge. The rest is history...
Hometown: Farmington Hills, MI
Why did I move to Portland: The natural beauty had us. And, for a guy who wanted to be a brewer for most of his adult life, Portland was my Mecca. When my wife and I first moved out here, we started a food cart in North Portland and made biscuits and from-scratch soups while I brewed on the side.
Education: Graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a BFA. I focused in film production.
Favorite Jobs: I've been very lucky in that I was fulfilled in my previous career in film and television. I got to work on many awesome projects including 'Grimm' and 'The Librarians', among others. My new career has proven to be even more fulfilling. I truly love what I do.
Hobbies: Brewing Beer, next level BBQ'n and playing my harmonica. Catch my band sometime in north Portland. We're called 'John White and the Unlikely Renegades'.
Favorite Beer: Still searching. I hope I never find it!
Favorite Portland Spot: (In Portland) In a kayak on the Willamette. (Outside of Portland) sitting in the backyard of Solera Brewing looking at MT HOOD or White Rose Winery sitting in an Adirondack looking out over the valley.
Favorite Sandwich: (of all time) Bari Italian Sub (Chicago) (current local favorite) The Pastrami Zombie by Sammich (owned and operated by a Chicago native in Portland)

Why did I get into real estate?: I loved film production, but there came a point where a career change was the only option that would give me more time with my daughters. I gave it a little thought and I realized everything I had been doing for the last 10 years was preparing me to be a real estate agent. It was like it was meant to be.
Favorite type of house: Mid-century daylight ranch.
Favorite memory from 2018: Our summer trip to Bend! It was the perfect family vacation and the girls were champs! We all had a great time and left in good spirits.
Goal for 2019: Growth. Business, Family, Life
Well that was fun! Thanks for tuning in. I can't emphasize it enough, but the reason I created House Hunter PDX and, likewise, the principle on which we're growing it, is that I want to give authenticity and openness to my community and tear down the barriers that sometimes make real estate (and the people that work in it) feel inaccessible. I'm more than a profile on Zillow, or some reviews on Yelp - I am here for YOU, providing for my community and thoroughly enjoying it. If you ever have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to hit me up!
HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!
